original art

From The Studio.....

Artwork is one of the most difficult things I find to source for clients as it is so personal.  With art I've always felt that instant reaction you have when seeing a piece is immediately a love / hate thing.  It either appeals to you or it doesn't.  I am currently sourcing some artwork for clients but at the same time painting some of my own. I started in this industry selling antiques and as a decorative artist.   I painted walls for many clients and fellow designers throughout Connecticut and New York.  I'm making time to get back to some creative outlets that I have missed over the years.  This piece will be available soon!

William McClure...The Mix Master and Reinventor

William McClure, interior designer / artist is a designer I can so relate to.  To say this guy is talented would be an understatement, but what I love about him is that rather then buy new pieces he continues to reinvent the pieces he owns.  His style is very much my own personal style, many accessories and design items you will find in my own home.  He has a knack for accessorizing and moving things around to continually create new vignettes throughout his home.  Let me show you what I mean.  I think the first thing people think of when they want a change in there home is that they have to get rid of pieces that they own and replace them. The take away here Is that with a little ingenuity you can keep reinventing your pieces time and time again.

Same classic chair shown in various places in his home in different fabrics, they appear to be slipcovers.  Ingenious, allows you to change your space when ever you feel like it.

Cyanotype Artwork

I came across this images ages ago on Pinterest and was smitten.  I was drawn to it as blue is my favorite color and I love, love, love that it is artwork with the feel of denim.  Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence and faith.  I wonder if peoples favorite color meaning stands true to characteristics they have as human beings. Food for thought.  The process used to create these pictures is cyanotype, where a chemical is put down on fabric or paper and the sun then turns it indigo and wallah the image appears.  I'm also drawn to the simplicity of the way these are hung.  If anyone knows who created these please forward the information as I would love to give credit.  Also love the organic yet sophisticated feel of these, hung in a large grouping really creates a beautiful focal wall.
